Arshdeep Singh picked up a 5-wicket haul, helped India to restrict New Zealand to 225 and win the game by 46 runs and the series 4-1.

Earlier, Ishan Kishan slammed 43-ball 103 to help India get to 271/5 in 20 overs.

Opting to bat first, India posted a massive 271 for five. In reply, New Zealand were all out for 225 in 19.4 overs. Arshdeep Singh (5/51) and Axar Patel (3/33) were the most successful bowlers for the hosts. Finn Allen top-scored for the Kiwis with a stroke-filled 38-ball 80.

Kishan (103, 43 balls, 6×4, 10×6), who struck his maiden hundred in the format, and skipper Suryakumar Yadav (63, 30b, 4×4, 6×6) treated the Kiwis bowlers with utter disdain during their 137-run third-wicket stand which came in just over 10 overs.

In the chase, New Zealand got off to a fiery start, thanks to Finn Allen’s 80 off 38, but they lost the plot after his dismissal. Arshdeep Singh’s five-wicket haul made the task far easier for India.

PLAYER OF THE SERIES – The victorious captain of India, Suryakumar Yadav, receives the award for being the leading run scorer of the series.
