T20 WC 2026, Super 8s: England beat Sri Lanka by 51 runs

England registered a 51-run win against the sub-continent team in the Super 8 match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The English team posted 146/9, which many believed was not the match-winning total. However, the home team suffered a batting collapse from the start of their run chase and was dismissed for 95 runs in 16.4 overs.

Will Jacks took three wickets while Jofra Archer dismissed two batters. Liam Dawson and Adil Rashid also got rid of two batters each.

Earlier, Phil Salt amassed 62 runs off 40 deliveries, laced with 6 boundaries and 2 sixes. Dunith Wellalage (3 wickets), Dilshan Madushanka (2 wickets) and Maheesh Theekshana (2 wickets) were magnificent with the ball.
