Pakistan are set to face Sri Lanka in their final Super 8 encounter on Saturday, 28 February at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele.
To progress to the semi-finals, the Men in Green must defeat Sri Lanka cricket team in their final Super 8 fixture by a margin of 65 runs or successfully chase down the target within 13 overs. Should they achieve this, Pakistan will draw level with New Zealand on three points, but a superior net run rate would see them advance to the semi-finals.
However, if they fail to beat Sri Lanka by the above margin, New Zealand will qualify for the semi-final after finishing second in Group 2.
Pakistan’s hopes have remained alive in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 following England’s victory over New Zealand in their final Super 8 fixture on Friday, 27 February at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
