Purani Dilli 6 on Tuesday clinched a 20-run victory over North Delhi Strikers in the ongoing first edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) at the iconic Shri Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Key contributions came from Arpit Rana and Sanat Sangwan, who scored 42 and 47 runs respectively, before Mayank Gusain’s explosive 30-ball 40 propelled Purani Dilli 6 to a competitive 192/6 in their 20 overs.
Ayush Singh’s remarkable bowling spell, claiming five wickets, was instrumental in ensuring a comfortable win for Purani Dilli 6. North Delhi Strikers had opted to field first but faced an aggressive start from Purani Dilli 6, with openers Rana and Sangwan smashing six fours each to reach 90 runs within the first eight overs.
The early breakthroughs by Ayush Singh, who picked up wickets of Sarthak Ranjan and Yash Dabas, left the Strikers struggling at 19/2 in just under three overs. Despite a resilient 57-run knock from Vaibhav Kandpal, the Strikers fell short, finishing at 172/7. Purani Dilli 6 now stands fourth in the points table and will face East Delhi Riders next.
