Out of favour former Indian Test vice captain Ajinkya Rahane has scored a century for Leicestershire in the County Championship Division Two match against Glamorgan on Sunday (September 1).
The right-handed batter came out to bat at No. 4 for the Lewis Hill-led side in the match taking place at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, and with the help of 13 fours and one six, he scored 102 runs from 193 balls in the second inning.
It was his 40th century in first-class cricket and first one for Leicestershire. The 36-year-old right-handed batter, who was not considered for the Duleep Trophy 2024 by the BCCI selectors last month, had earlier scored 42 runs in the first inning.
BCCI selectors are set to announce India’s squad for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh in the coming days.
