India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar recently visited Pakistan, and the issue of Team India participating in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan was brought up several times. Pakistan’s External Affairs Minister Ishaq Dar spoke to his counterpart. Even the PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, had a word with the Indian Cabinet Minister.
However, it doesn’t assure of the Men in Blue’s visit to Pakistan. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) haven’t given any confirmation.
According to Cricbuzz, the PCB has written a letter to the BCCI offering assistance should the Rohit Sharma-led team want to return to Delhi or Chandigarh after playing every game in Pakistan. This would help India to avoid staying in Pakistan due to security concerns.
A PCB official revealed that there is nearly a week’s gap between the last two matches. The Champions Trophy will be played from February 19 to March 9 in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi. The PCB would host the India National Cricket Team’s matches in Lahore. India’s matches are scheduled for February 20 (vs. Bangladesh), February 23 (vs. Pakistan), and March 2 (vs. New Zealand).
The PCB and ICC are also ready to organize India’s matches outside Pakistan if the Men in Blue refuse to travel.
