Former India captain and Batsman Virat Kohli was at his aggressive best on Day 1 of the Perth Test between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium on Friday
Kohli was seen helping out India’s stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah on the opening day.
Kohli eased up Bumrah’s workload by helping him out during Australia’s batting. Kohli was taking care of the fielding changes from the slips, was constantly have a word with young speedsters Harshit Rana and Mohammed Siraj. He was riling up the Australian batters by turning up the heat.
A certain section took a trip down the memory lane and reminisced the time when Kohli used to captain India in Tests.
Some fans were nostalgic seeing an aggressive Kohli who looked pumped on every delivery that was being bowled. The fans pointed out how they missed Kohli, the captain, the leader and the charismatic aura on the field.
This was Bumrah’s 2nd time captaining a Test match after July 2022 when, under his leadership, India lost to England. However, Bumrah was leading from the front, bowling thunderbolts and keeping Australian batters on their toes.
