The team owners of the IPL teams took part in the dialogue with BCCI regarding several policies of the tournament ahead of the 2025 edition.

According to the reports, Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shahrukh Khan was very vocal against having a mega auction ahead of the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) owner Kavya Maran also supported him in this regard. The report from Cricbuzz also mentioned that Shahrukh Khan was involved in a heated argument with Ness Wadia, the owner of Punjab Kings (PBKS), over the number of retentions.

“It takes a lot of time to build a squad and as discussed it also takes quite a bit of time and investment for the younger players to mature,” Maran said.

BCCI has informed the franchises that it will come up with a decision by the end of August.
