Mumbai: In memory of the late Amol Kale, a tribute event was held at the Jio World Convention Centre here on Sunday.
The event featured the premiere of “Dharavi Dream Catchers,” a documentary produced by Late Amol Kale and Suraj Samat, capturing the initiative by MCA & Mumbai Police to scout talents from slums of Dharavi.
Amol Kale, aged 47, former Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) honorary President, passed away following a cardiac in New York. Kale, along with MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik and apex council member Suraj Samat, had watched India’s thrilling win against Pakistan in T20 World Cup from the stadium on June 9.
The documentary highlighted the struggles of aspiring cricketers from Dharavi and how cricket can be an agent of change for them. During the event Suraj Samat and Ashish Shelar paid tribute to Late Amol Kale.
Following the documentary, a concert by Piyush Mishra added a special touch to the evening. Suraj Samat paid tribute to Late Amol Kale, emphasizing his vision and dedication to supporting young cricketers. The event was attended by Minal Kale, the wife of Late Amol Kale, along with his children, Arpita and Aditya.
Notable attendees included Shashikant Bhoge, a friend of Amol Kale, Ajinkya Naik, President of the MCA, Vivek Phansalkar, Police Commissioner of Mumbai, Ashish Shelar, Treasurer of the BCCI and Armaan Malick, MCA Treasurer.
